  • NARI-MN_header_logoThe National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) is a nonprofit trade association committed to promoting the interests of its members within the remodeling industry, and ensuring customers have the best possible remodeling experience. The ACE award recognizes companies that provide outstanding customer service in quality, responsiveness, meeting deadlines, professionalism, and communication.

Standard Water Control has, once again, won NARI’s Ace Award. This award is especially meaningful to us because it’s our customers that make the determination. Consumers who have worked directly with professionals rate their provider in five areas: quality, responsiveness, meeting deadlines, professionalism, and communication.

Our customers have rated us highly enough for us to receive this honor. We couldn’t be more pleased and grateful.

Thanks for being such great customers!

  • Installation-8In July of 2012 we were called out to a house in Minneapolis. Cathy, the owner, was dealing with a wet basement. When we came to assess the problem, we saw that she already had an above-slab drainage channel installed in part of her basement. As we’ve seen time and again, an above slab channel is an incomplete solution to a basement water problem. Water continued to pool in the block walls of her foundation, and eventually found its way around the drainage channel system into other parts of the basement, damaging a bathroom along the way.

We set to work to install our rigid drain tile system. We had to work carefully in a few tight areas, but our experienced crew was up to the task. When we were finished, Cathy said she’d “…never seen a jobsite so Cement Finish-11clean,” and that Standard Water “exceeded [her] expectations”–which was no small feat considering that she “…picked the company with the highest rating.” In closing, she said,” I was very satisfied with every aspect of this job. Thank you.”

  • Sump PumpGreater pumping capacity, smart operation, longer service life.

Sump pumps commonly available at hardware stores can help you out in a pinch but aren’t reliable over the long haul. We have always believed sump pumps are the heart of any basement waterproofing system. It doesn’t do you much good to move water into a sump basin if you can’t pump it out and away from the house.

Old sump pump technology is basic and can get the job done. Rising water activates a switch that starts the pump which moves the water out. Pumps like these suffer from short cycling and lack of use issues that can dramatically shorten the life of the pump.

New technology solves these problems and we’re taking advantage of it. Every new basement waterproofing system we install now comes with a sump pump exclusive to Standard Water Control. You’ll even see our logo on the pump and the controller.

These pumps are the next step in the evolution of our service marked Superior Sump System and you can only get them from us.

Call us today and ask specifically about our new Standard Water sump pump for the Superior Sump System.

  • StandardWaterFloodedHouseI just read an article from the Associated Press that warns of potential flooding this year due to the heavy snowfall. ” … the towering snowpack rimming the watershed will melt this spring and much of the water will flow into the lakes or the streams that feed them. The runoff is expected to be so bountiful that some areas will be in danger of flooding, a prospect that could be worsened by ice jams on swollen rivers.

“Any additional rainfall on top of that snowpack would add to that flood threat,” said Keith Kompoltowicz, hydrology branch chief with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers district office in Detroit. “We’re certainly paying very close attention to the weather in the next few weeks.” More from this article by JOHN FLESHER>>>

Back in February I said all this snow is like a ticking time bomb for homeowners who have basement water problems and the question isn’t if but when. Now is the time to start thinking about how you’re going to deal with the inevitable. Contact Standard Water today for a free, no obligation estimate. We’ll work with you to protect one of your most valuable possessions.

  • Installation Photos-8 copyA while back we installed one of our waterproofing systems at a home in Minneapolis for a nice lady named Jodi. Her foundation walls were made of the typical cement block we see every day and, because the home was built in 1911, we also had stone walls to contend with.

Jobs like these are no problem, we know how to handle ’em. In this case, after installing the drain tile (and our patented Diamond Drainage Board) we installed our Diamond Brite Vapor Guard; which will direct any moisture coming through the wall into the system; where it will be collected in the sump basket and pumped away from the house.

We received high marks from the homeowner after the job was done; from our sales person to the crew working in her home. When asked why she chose Standard Water over our competitors Jodi replied … “The Installation Photos-25 copysalesman was not pushy and did not talk badly about their competition.”

She said she had a “million” questions for our crew foreman, Ed, and was impressed with his patience. Jodi gave us top marks for Quality, Responsiveness, Punctuality and Professionalism; and, in her closing comments said Standard Water was … “Highly, highly recommended.” Since 1977 we’ve provided homeowners with peace of mind. If we can be of any help to you, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
