  • We don’t believe in manipulating people just to get money out of them. We’ve seen too many examples of contractors taking advantage of customers this way and it ends badly for all concerned. Since it’s bad for business we train our salespeople to let people know if we are not the best answer for them. This is good for business as people are extremely happy to deal with a company that isn’t out to take advantage of them. Often they’re so happy, they tell everyone they know … as evidenced by this review, left on Angie’s List, by David from White Bear Lake, MN.

“We did not choose to go with Standard but only because the service they provide was more than we needed. My reason for writing this review is — after surveying our situation and [discussing] what we might do to correct it — the representative was forthright and honest that the minimum [amount] of work they would do would be more than we needed. He thanked us for the opportunity to come out for the estimate and gave us many thoughts on how to proceed with our issue. It’s refreshing to have a vendor be some completely honest even when they know that they will not get the job. High marks in my book for that!”

  • We were called out to a house in Minneapolis. The owner, was dealing with a wet basement. When we came to assess the problem, we saw that she already had an above-slab drainage channel installed in part of her basement. As we’ve seen time and again, these channels are an incomplete solution to a basement water problem. Water continued to pool in the block walls of her foundation, and eventually found its way around the drainage channel system into other parts of the basement, damaging a bathroom along the way.

We set to work to install our rigid drain tile system. We had to work carefully in a few tight areas, but our experienced crew was up to the task. When we were finished, Cathy said she’d “…never seen a jobsite so clean,” and that Standard Water “exceeded [her] expectations”–which was no small feat considering that she “…picked the company with the highest rating.” In closing, she said,” I was very satisfied with every aspect of this job. Thank you.”

Standard Water has years of experience tackling tough water problems. If you have water in your basement, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us.

  • After every job we send the homeowner a packet with our questionnaire and a survey to find out how we performed. This ongoing program has helped us become a better company and will continue to do so in the future. Take a look at the responses from Eileen in St. Louis Park, MN. ~Mike

It’s a company policy that if a homeowner doesn’t need our services, we tell them. Here’s a case where we helped to solve a water problem, saved a homeowner money and didn’t make a penny ourselves. Why would we do something like this? Read on. The review from this Angie’s List member says it all. ~Mike

(From: Anita – St. Paul, MN)

Kevin came out to assess the water damage in our basement and helped us to find a solution.

Kevin is phenomenal and trust worthy. He listened to all of the information that I could provide about the problem. We moved into our 1933 house in December and discovered wet, soiled carpet on first thaw around March 30. I had already pulled the carpet back and disposed of the water logged carpet pad. This was the only corner of the basement that had water damage. Kevin assessed a drain that had been installed by the previous owners on the exterior of the home. Even though I was slightly persistent about adding drain tile, Kevin told us it may be overkill because of water only coming in on that area of the basement. He referred me to another contractor that would come and evaluate the exterior drain. I was impressed with Kevin’s honesty and his ability to refer me to another colleague who may be able to fiX my problem for less money. My experience with this company was nothing short of amazing and I’m a little sad that I can’t throw my money at them:) However .. .! will find more fun ways of spending the saved money! Thanks Kevin!
