All excavation is done by hand to minimize any damage to homeowner’s property and protect underground utilities. A special saw is used to cut the concrete block from the outside to minimize the mess on the inside. The block is then pounded out from the inside with a sledgehammer. The hole is trimmed with 2x6, green treated lumber; the window is secured, sealed with urethane caulk and Protecto Wrap tape to ensure a high effeciency seal and insulation packed around it. The window well is anchored to the wall and backfilled with gravel to provide drainage and help hold it in place. The outside of the window is trimmed in rough cut cedar ready for painting or staining by the homeowner.
