There are a number of different ways contractors use to facilitate the movement of water from the inside of hollow concrete blocks, over the footing and into the drainage field. In this case the previous installers inserted tubes into holes created at the base of the blocks. This has never been our preferred method as the holes of the tubes are pretty small and are often clogged with mineral deposits. We’ve replaced quite a number of these systems over the years.
We use our own, patented, Diamond Drainage Board which has no tubes or small holes that might clog. Our solution facilitates the free flow of water from the blocks, across the footing and into the drainage field where the water is directed to the sump basin and pumped away from the house.
